One question that I’m frequently asked is, “why did you want to be a hairstylist?” I’ve had an interest in hair and fashion since I was very young. I remember watching makeover shows as a kid and seeing how happy people were when they saw their new look – I knew then that this was something that I wanted to do for others! I want to help people express their best self image and to make each client feel happy and beautiful! I also get to enjoy the benefit of having a creative outlet for myself.
I attended The Avenue Five Institute in Austin, TX where I went through extensive training, becoming certified in Sassoon precision cutting as well as learning different coloring techniques, high fashion styling and updos. I worked as a stylist in Austin for 6 years before relocating to Portland in January of 2019, where I’ve continued to pursue my passion as a hairstylist.
When I’m not behind the chair I enjoy listening to and playing music. I like to dabble in photography, jewelry making and cooking. I love spending time in the outdoors hiking, camping and exploring with my husband and blue heeler mix, Samantha Sue. I also have an amazing little kitty at home named Isabel Rose, who will soon be accompanying us on our outdoor adventures.
“Hairdressers are a wonderful breed. You work one-on-one with another human being and the object is to make them feel so much better and to look at themselves with a twinkle in their eye.”
